Inside Sales Associate

Job Duties:

Primary responsibilities of the Inside Sales Associate are to work with HPLC customers on the phone and in-person to provide them with the information they need to make an informed buying decision.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Sales:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products sold, product usage, product pricing and new products on the market
  • Comply with company procedures on sales transactions, paperwork, credits and margins
  • Maintain stock, displays and housekeeping for assigned areas
  • Stock shelves with inside inventory

Customer Service:

  • Provide quality service to all customers
  • Answer telephone inquiries pleasantly, promptly and professionally
  • Address customer concerns

General:

  • Become proficient using Spruce Order Processing computer module
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as with a team
  • Need to have very good customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Lumber and building materials knowledge preferred
  • General computer proficiency
  • Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as assigned

Door Shop Associate

The Door Shop Associate is a key player in providing assistance to customers on orders and returns, locating and pulling correct items by type, style, and quantity as required for filling orders completely, quickly, safely, and accurately.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS               

  • Operating forklift
  • Maintaining knowledge of proper identification of inventory items
  • Maintaining work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
  • Accomplishing workload in a steady, productive manner, in order to provide a quality product for our customers.
  • Focusing on the job you are performing with tools and machinery in order to maintain a safe environment.
  • Pulling and storing all inventory required for production.
  • Cutting and assembling door stops, jambs, and casings.
  • Maintaining machines and tooling to allow for quality products.
  • Filling out paperwork required for production and turning in when completed.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

QUALIFICATIONS               

  • Forklift Certified, preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment commonly used in door production and repair.

  • Ability to move and stand for prolonged periods and frequently perform physically demanding tasks.

Outside Sales Professional

Henry Poor Lumber is seeking experienced outside building material sales professionals. We’re looking for motivated individuals with proven track records in the Building Material Industry to conduct outside sales functions in Central Indiana Market. Ideal candidate will have product knowledge and 5 + years of building material sales experience. Yard/Warehouse Associate

The Yard Associate is a key player in providing assistance to customers on orders and returns, locating and pulling correct items by type, style, and quantity as required for filling orders completely, quickly, safely, and accurately.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS                

  • Provide assistance to customers on orders and returns.
  • Locate and pull correct items by type, style, and quantity as directed by supervisor to fill orders completely, quickly, safely, and accurately.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist truck drivers in loading merchandise and materials ensuring it is safely and properly handled to prevent damage.
  • Coordinate with receiving agents to stock material in a timely manner in the designated areas. Restocking empty bins, straightening, and flat stacking.
  • Restock customer returns after they have been documented.
  • Maintain knowledge of inventory items
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Lumber Yard Drive/Yardman CDL A OR B / Drive For Hire (Chauffeur) License

Job Duties:

Primary duties are delivery lumber and building materials to customer job sites, working in the yard building orders/loads, handling inventory and assisting customers while in the yard.  Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Deliver lumber and building material to customer job sites.
  • Operate forklifts and Commercial Delivery Trucks.
  • Assist in receiving and loading trucks.
  • Assemble customers’ loads from order tickets for delivery to job sites.
  • Perform customer service-assist and wait on customers while in yard.
  • Assist in counting and maintaining inventory, and keeping yard clean and orderly.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations and promptly correct any potential hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Clean driving record. Ability to pass DOT physical, background check and drug test.
  • Experience operating a forklift and various commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Need to have good customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Lumber and building materials knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as assigned.
